Indigenous Leadership and Engagement 2017 (Yukon)

Students learn about social justice, reciprocity, Indigenous ways of knowing, and cross-cultural awareness. Engage in experiential learning activities including: traditional storytelling, wilderness hikes, and service projects with the community. Students will also receive all three levels of NAPI (Native Ambassador Post-Secondary Initiative) certification on their co-curricular record. Students get to:

  • Help contribute to local project in a First Nation community
  • Learn about and experience northern First Nations’ culture
  • Let local guides and elders teach you about the history of the land

What: Learn about Indigenous Leadership and receive all three levels of NAPI certification
Where: Arctic Institute of North America (AINA), Kluane Nation Territory
When: June 29 – July 9, 2017

Examples of previous projects include painting, supporting cultural events, manual labour, building structures, gardening and foraging.
