Fundraising for a Calgary Serves partner: Our School at Blair Grocery

We make choices every day. OSBG models a 'different' way to learn & a different way to eat.

This year’s Calgary Serves project in New Orleans is all about community development and food security. Our team is looking forward to returning to an innovative little school and urban commercial farm in the Lower 9th Ward to volunteer this year. Last year, founder and teacher, Nat Turner, spoke to our group about access to education and access to safe, healthy food in the lower 9th. We also attended a fundraiser for OSBG that featured food from the likes of Chef John Besh (yes, THE John Besh) and a panel discussion featuring Will Allen (yes, THE Will Allen) of Growing Power.

Our team is doing a bottle drive, From Cans to Carrots & Classrooms to benefit OSBG and we need your help. Team members will pick up your bottles and cans, or accept cash donqations to OSBG. Any amount helps. You can learn more about this incredible operation via their blog! Stay tuned for details here, as we plan to spend Fat Tuesday and our final day in NOLA volunteeering with Turner and his crew.
